Project Background
Change Healthcare Cardiology Hemo is a monitoring system for cardiology departments that need to aggregate blood flow data, waveforms, and images in one cardiac patient record. Critically, Hemo promotes physician efficiency by allowing physicians to complete their report before the patients leave the room and helps eliminate redundant data entry through a single integrated database for all cardiovascular procedures.
Product leaders saw the necessity of envisioning a next-generation Hemo product. The redesign initiative aimed to meet rising clinical demands for all roles in the cardiology suite and incorporate new technological innovations, all while catering to the existing customer needs. They enlisted the help of Change Healthcare’s Behavioral Science team to help them get their arms around the challenge.
Methodology
My team performed generative interviews with end users of the Hemodynamics product. The insights uncovered represented the perspectives of 33 participants across several roles including: product support, physicians, technicians, nurses, and administrators. The interviews were conducted virtually and were ~one hour in length.
Findings
I’m limited in what I’m allowed to share about our findings & the results of this redesign effort. But, the organization published a white paper that our team put together. You can find it linked!
