Project Background
I co-led a nine-month “Foundations of Innovation” project in which a cohort of new rotational program hires & director-level stakeholders were handed the following problem statement to solve for from our CEO:
“How might we take advantage of the opportunity presented by COVID-19 to play a role in evolving the healthcare industry into a more patient-centric ecosystem?”
Process
Leveraging our internal Innovation Framework, the project involved collaborative ideation and training workshops with SME’s specializing in UX, applied behavioral science, and artificial intelligence to integrate their insights into emerging concepts. I assisted the cohort through the following phases during the project:
Plan: Established the research purpose and finalized buy-in from leadership.
Discover/Empathize: Designed the research process to identify needs, gaps, and barriers for patients, physicians, and payers. Used emerging market trends, analogous inspiration, and literature reviews to provide a well-rounded view of the landscape.
Design/Ideate: Facilitated an idea generation session with the findings from the “Discover” phase to turn research findings into concrete ideas.
Prototype/Test: Finalized concept ideas using the Amazon PR/FAQ and led the team through prototyping while connecting them to SME’s across product management, design, finance, behavioral science and artificial intelligence.
Result
At the end of the project, four concepts were pitched to internal executives, VC’s and product heads leading to three intellectual property applications & two successful patents.
The concepts are proprietary but more information about the products/features that came out of this project can be found at the link!
